2005-10-28 - 9:34 a.m. Jaret and I went to Elizabethtown last weekend and, although it was certainly not the best Cameron Crowe film I have ever seen, it was one of the more emotionally-charged, which, I realize, is saying something, because it's Cameron. I cried toward the beginning, I cried right in the middle, and I cried twice closer to the end. And at the smallest moments too. I think that's truly the beauty of Cameron--small, subtle moments that say more than the proactive, in-your-face-moments ever will. And while we're on the topic of movies, I rediscovered Jean Seberg yesterday during a conversation with a coworker and now have every intention of purchasing Breathless (A Bout de Souffle) for my very own and watching it back-to-back with Bonjour Tristesse and crying and staring in horror at the whole mess. A little French New Wave never hurt anyone (excepting those people who have to find meaning in films lest they immediately get run over by automobiles--or people who hate Jean Paul Belmondo)--oh, and the reference was for Courtney--she likes it when I talk dirty. *This crafty illusion is carried out through the use of a gamer's bag of D&D dice.
