I just got stuffed with Mohan and Peeps. And also some burritos from El Chupacabres last night (that's for you, Steve). So, eventful weekend, all in all. It was Ransom's b-day. He turned 26. I think he also turned into someone who gets a little ill a lot. I drank some Irish Carbombs (a discussion ensued regarding the specification of the "Irish" in the British Isles--just food for thought), laughed until my stomach hurt, and was berated and degraded by the dude who lives in the efficiency next door. And you know what that means.......I'll be making shit of his sexual inexperience and beer belly for the remainder of my stay in Iowa City. I'll also be bellowing the words, "fucking asshole douchebag" fairly regularly as we share a living room wall and I can hear the fucker take a piss so I'm certain, beyond a shadow of a goddamn doubt, that he can hear me insulting him. It's a little childish and stupid, but, then again, so is his assface.
Let's talk about genuine apologies. Please note to those thoroughly ensconced in blog culture and social blog circles: the following discussion of legitimate, genuine apologies has absolutely nothing to do with anyone that any of you know. I think that a genuine apology (and it has to be truly genuine) is a precious treasure. I think that the fact that I occasionally think of people in terms of who I would potentially give a genuine apology to for past actions says something about the importance of a genuine apology. I will never give Michael Edward Meyer a genuine apology for a good goddamn thing that I've ever done. I will never give Buttplug McGee a sincere apology for a good goddamn thing that I've ever done. I would give both of them herpes in their junk and hairspray in their eyes, but never would I venture to tell either one of them that I was sorry. So, I hold a lot of grudges. I've let go of one. Please acknowledge the worth in that.
